Maargan Review: Plus Points
The main element that is typically seen in crime thrillers is portrayed in a different way. The method in which Ajay Dhishan’s personality is constructed will entice viewers. The various variations of his character are the film’s main advantage.
Vijay Antony delivers a composed performance as an officer who is investigating. His appearance is certain to impress the moviegoers. The reason for his unique appearance is that it serves as an element of suspense throughout the beginning of the film and it works very well.
The emotional sequences that involve the father-daughter and brother-sister relationship are effectively executed. The riveting narrative of the second part, along with the twists and turns at the climax and interval, makes a lasting impression.
Maargan Review: Minus Points
His performance by Vijay Antony is great However, the way in which his character was created was disappointing. Particularly in the flashback portion his character’s role is a bit tinny. Furthermore, Samuthirakani gets not a standout in the film’s small roles.
Ajay Dhishan’s character is also less memorable as the film nears its final. The love song in the beginning and several lag-time moments in the second half impede the story and could frustrate the viewers.
Although the twist at the end of the film is great but the way the film is concluded falls flat and doesn’t deliver a punch. The motive of the killer could have been more convincing. The film is serious in style across the board, however filmmakers could have incorporated some amusing elements to balance the film.
Maargan Review: Technical Aspects
Although Leo John’s script is distinctive, his style appears to be regular. Even though he has designed Ajay Dhishan’s character, Leo John gives an average conclusion to the character. This is extremely disappointing.
Leo John also serves as editor, however the editor could do better with the first part. Vijay Antony’s music as well as the sound design of S. Yuvaraj’s cinematography are awe-inspiring. The VFX is executed well however the production values are adequate.

Maargan Movie: Final Review
In the end, Maargan is a crime investigation thriller that fails to leave an impression. Although the plot has an original premise, its style of presentation is a bit regular. The first part is dull while the second half is generally better. Overall it won’t be a hit with fans of crime thrillers.
